Spring is here...minus all the snow. Although we did receive a fresh snow fall on the official first day of Spring (March 21) this year, we are still in the Spring spirit! So, this week we put together a list of events that are great to attend this season that are packed full of great activations!

Creating an effective follow up newsletter for your client

Clients often appreciate a follow-up newsletter during ongoing programs or when activations come to an end. Devoting time to produce an update that includes concise content and a visually stimulating layout better connects the activation to client objectives and sparks an emotional response that often goes beyond a quantitative ROI.

Case Study: Royale

Case Study: Royale

From vision to reality, the Royale Bathmobile program was brought to life in 2009 and has been on a ‘roll’ ever since! This unique promotional vehicle, with its larger-than-life roll of Royale, never fails to turn a head on its annual road tour across Canada. Consumers interact with Royale Roll Models (Brand Ambassadors) for up to 45 minutes, touching and feeling the quality of Royale products and providing their feedback. Consumers also have the ability to support Royale’s charitable ties by playing the Roll-in-One golf challenge benefiting Children’s Miracle Network/ Shoppers Drug Mart Weekend to End Women's Cancers.

Devon Recaps The Celebrity Apprentice

I’ll be the first to admit I watch A LOT of trash, but The Apprentice holds a special place in my heart. Since inception, I would tune in and think, “I can do that!”...and now, I do! For people that don’t understand experiential marketing, I explain how it’s somewhat similar to The Apprentice; our clients give us a challenge and it’s up to us to work with certain tools to make it happen. Each challenge is different, and sometimes stressful, but the end result is always worth it... except if you get fired, of course.

The one thing we all hold near and dear to us as Experienital Marketers are our tools! There are certain essentials you should have in your tool box and this week we wanted to share with you what we believe are the top 5 Tools every event marketer should have to be a lean, mean activating machine!

Curiosity aint never killed no cat!

A curious mind is what drives every individual’s creativity. It’s the voice inside our head that tells us to ignore the “experts opinion” and get our hands dirty.

Full team Activations A.K.A. “ALL HANDS ON DECK”

“ALL HANDS ON DECK (AHOD)” is a term we use at BOOM! to describe an event that requires our entire head office team to pitch in and help activate. They result from a combination of sheer magnitude and our dedication to excellence - which we’ve coined “The BOOM! Standard.” These events are not your typical execution where a small team of brand ambassadors can manage the entire day’s work. AHOD days tend to fill a massive venue like Toronto’s Yonge and Dundas Square, where in a single day, we can interact with upwards of 50,000 consumers.

TOP 5: Team Building Events

In the Experiential Marketing Industry quitting time is not always 5pm. Saturdays and Sundays often times become another day of the work week and it can sometimes feel like you haven't seen other staff members (in office or in field) in forever. It is important to take some time to regroup once in a while and do some team building. Your teams are just like your mobile tour vehicle; maintenance is important. So, in this weeks Top 5 we are sharing what we believe are some great Team Building events your company can host for its employees.

BOOM!er Spotlight: Clay

Sunday 9:00AM: I head to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for my third day at the Toronto Autoshow. I arrive at 9:45 am, 15 minutes before I begin my shift. I enter through the South Building and go straight down three sets of escalators before I reach the exhibits. The car enthusiasts are already in line 45 minutes before the doors even open. We’re approximately 300 ft below street level but you would never know it with all the lights, shiny cars and red carpet – it feels like a movie set.
