OH CANADA, OUR HOME AND NATIVE LAND!!!!! This weekend our countries national anthem will be on repeat across this great land as we celebrate its 144th birthday. This time of the year brings out Canadians 'True Patriot Love,' and in honor of that we wanted to share with you BOOM! 's list of the Top 5 events that will be happening over the next few days from East to West.

As a new member of the BOOM! squad, I was given a memorable opportunity to participate in the very 1st Steam Whistle/BOOM! training session. I am so elated to be working with the team at Steam Whistle, and CANNOT WAIT to begin my own journey, passionate about a brand and a title, known to the industry as a “Good Beer Folk.”

Our partners at Campbell’s do their part each year to help the Canadian National Food Bank increase their level of assistance to the public through the ‘Help Hunger Disappear’ campaign. The campaign begins each year after ‘National Hunger Awareness Day’ on June 1st, and continues to raise awareness about the issue and grow donations of food and money to the Canadian National Food Bank.

Last week the Formula 1 Grand Prix Du Canada touched down in the beautiful city of Montreal for its highly anticipated annual race. This year, we activated Irish Spring at the LG Festival Grand Prix Sur Crescent Street, one of the largest street festivals that take place during race week. The experience was stellar but the results were even better!

With the New Year, came new possibilities at BOOM! and the opportunity to work with a brand as amazing as Steam Whistle was one of them! We are very happy to report that we have landed a partnership with the ‘Good Beer folks’ and will be launching our first series of activations with them in Ontario!

It wasn't until a friend of mine, Bryan, who had been working at the Whaleshark Oceanic Research Centre told me about an impoverished neighborhood called Camponado, a few hundred meters from Main Street that I became aware of the alternate reality of the island. Due to time constraints, I had to leave Utila, but flash forward two years later. I pitched the idea of researching the barrio to my MFA thesis advisors at Ryerson University in Toronto, and got on a plane this past November to spend two and a half months on the island.
