Social Media Week Toronto 2012

Social Media Week Toronto 2012

Social media week is back in Toronto for 2012, in its fourth year running the conference takes place across the globe with 12 participating countries. Talks and presentations are being held across Toronto during the week of February 13th-17th. Registration for Social Media Week Toronto (@smwto , #SMWTO) officially opened on January 17th and will stay open up until the event date however they tend to fill up quickly so the sooner you register the better!

Our social structure has become heavily dependent on the flow of information through social media outlets. Information and online content no longer exist simply for our consumption, it is there to be shared and passed through networks of people. This is the thinking behind the theme of Social Media Week this year. Collaboration plays a major role within the social sphere, every minute of the day relationships are established online because of the content that we create and share. It is, in turn, the information that we possess that drives us to collaborate amongst like minded individuals. We are looking forward to attending a number of different thought-provoking talks during Social Media Week and encourage anyone interested to do so as well.

SMWTO has created a mobile app that is available in the iTunes store now. This app is going to make it easier to sign up and track the events that you will be attending.

If you are interested in attending an event, visit socialmediaweek.org to create an account and sign up for any of the 60 + events that are currently going on. New events will continue to be added so check back frequently.
