A big congratulations and Mo-felt THANK YOU for making it through another Movember. Truly some Mo-nificient efforts this year. A special thanks to all those who joined ‘Team 6Mo’degrees’ for our best year to date. We surpassed last year’s fundraising by $4,000 and exceeded this year’s goal by $2,000 – our accomplishment currently sits at $12,000 raised for Movember Canada!!!!

It’s that time of year again folks; people walk a little taller, gazes last a little longer, and men’s upper lips are a little warmer. That’s right, Movember, the now annual awareness and fundraising campaign in support of men’s health, in particular prostate cancer. The Mo Bros and Mo Sistas here at BOOM! have all pledged their support and for the next 3 weeks will be embracing the fashion styling’s made famous by such greats as Tom Seleck, Ned Flanders, the Village People, and more!

“Find us on…” Is Facebook right for your brand?

“Find us on Facebook.” A tag line we are hearing more and more of these days. It's heard on TV and radio, and the ever recognizable Facebook icon is tagged onto more and more billboards, flyers and magazines everyday. It seems every business is making a concerted effort to let us know how conscious they are of the social media space… well, at least that they have heard of Facebook, anyway.

Internet TV, PVR, and other new media that one would expect a to have negative impact on TV, is in fact doing the opposite. The Twitterverse comes alive during prime time television as viewers seek out real time conversations during their favorite shows. And, despite the capabilities of PVR/DVR and TV’s with built in search capability the majority of viewers would still rather watch their favorite shows at their regularly scheduled time (perhaps so they can tweet about them and make appropriately timed FaceBook updates).

The recent debut of Microsoft’s Kinetic for the Xbox 360 has shown gaming world that controllers are not always needed! Nintendo’s Wii successfully broke the stereotype of the typical video game controller and since then ,we have seen PlayStation follow suit with Move and now Kinetic from Xbox 360.

Analytics company Soysmos recently reported a survey indicating that 71% of Tweets produced no measurable reaction, where 29% did generate a retweet or reply. Almost 3 out of 4, that is a lot of unnoticed tweeting.
